Over the years, M&C Group of Companies CRS (Cooperate Social Responsibility) initiatives have been a low profile within the local market. M&C Group of Companies decided to develop an employee volunteer program to drive CSR initiatives.
The M&C Group of Companies Volunteer Program called Caring In Action was established to cultivate advocates for the company’s CSR and donation initiatives. In addition, invest time & effort in the local community and its people. In doing so, building a volunteer team dedicated to achieving its mission through community involvement and enriching the lives of those in need. The M&C Caring Action Group is committed to monthly initiatives to help the needy.
Hamper Donation
On May 28th M&C Caring Action Group assisted 26-year-old Ms. Natarra Mc Donald who is an unemployed mother of three faced with the hardships of the Covid 19 Pandemic. On behalf of the M&C Group of Companies – Caring in Action supplied food, hygiene essentials, and cleaning products to Ms. McDonald in Deglos Bexon.
Joania Martyr, Volunteer Vice President expressed, “It felt good donating and knowing that we assisted in meeting some of their needs, especially due to unemployment within the household.” “It was heartwarming, and the recipient relayed that she felt very thankful.”
Material Donation:
M&C Group of Companies – Caring in Action collaborated with ATLAS a non-profit, non-governmental organization geared towards nurturing, inspiring, and fostering creativity among the youth of Choiseul and environs. They have embarked on a project of constructing a house for Ms. Marina Felix, an unemployed mother of six who lives in a defective galvanized structure house.
A donation of 20 lengths of 2x4x20 dress-treated lumber was given by the M&C Volunteer Group to assist in the reconstruction of Ms. Felix’s home. The donation was presented by our President Michelle Thomas and M&C Home Depot Vieux Fort Store Manager, Thomson St. Louis who also provide transportation for the material on June 26th, 2021.
Update:
As of July 12th, construction work has commenced on building a new home for Ms. Felix and her family, with the assistance of the residents of Morne Sion. This project is anticipated to be completed before the reopening of school in September.
