We are looking to recruit a highly numerate, self-motivated, experienced finance professional to improve our organizations financial operation and direct our internal controls and accounting operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, be highly organized and have excellent leadership skills. The successful candidate will streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports, develop employees, and ensure regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the accounting department, administer the company’s financial and management accounting systems.
- Prepare scheduled financial and management reports, including financial statements.
- Provide scheduled management accounts and financial support to ensure managers are provided with timely, accurate and relevant information for effective decision making.
- Safeguard and manage the company’s finances and fixed assets in an effective and efficient manner to obtain maximum financial results.
- Assist in the preparation of strategic plans, forecasts, and budgets for the various subsidiaries, while collaborating with managers to ensure realistic targets and objectives are set.
- Prepare and interpret all operating results, annual budgets and administer forecasts.
- Provide an internal audit function for the company.
- Manage the credit control function.
- Ensure that the department is adequately staffed with well-trained employees.
- Utilize performance management techniques to drive the departments performance and contribution to overall business success.
QUALIFICATIONS & REXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- ACCA, CGA qualified with at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a similar field.
- Proven experience in finance management with strong technical knowledge with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and regulatory standards.
- Experience in a computerized accounting environment.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and build successful teams.
- Experience in budgeting, preparation of financial statements and management accounting.
- Experience utilizing performance management to drive performance to achieve business goals.
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent oral & written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
