M&C GROUP OF COMPANIES GIVES BACK TO SUPPORT SAINT LUCIA’S COVID-19 RELIEF AND RECOVERY

M&C Group of Companies, Bridge Street (June 8, 2020) – As Saint Lucia is faced with the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, M&C Group of Companies stands with the Saint Lucia community to help limit the spread of the virus and ease the related economic hardships.

There has been an increase in the demand for essential resources as a result of school closures and the rise of unemployment across Saint Lucia due to COVID-19. To help fill that demand locally, the newly formed M&C Volunteer Group has embarked on an initiative over the last four weeks, providing food supplies and toiletries to many poverty-stricken individuals in the North and South of the island. Many individuals within the communities do not have daily access to basic food supplies. Persons like Lester F. who lost his wife to lupus last month and is now left to raise four children while unemployed.

“The M&C Volunteer Group are responding in big and small ways to help those in need,” said Mrs. Vernessa Chance, Marketing Manager, M&C Group of Companies. “Our response to this crisis is guided by our value of caring for our people and their families, our consumers, and importantly, for those most in need right now.”

Michelle Thomas, Volunteer Leader said, “There was great satisfaction delivering the hampers and knowing that we made a difference and seeing the smiles and almost some tears from those individuals, was beyond heart-warming.”
